Wong Sheung Kung Fu Club Announces Official Name Change to Victoria Hung Fut & Lion Dance Association
Victoria, BC — September 20th 2026 — The Board of Directors of 10707422 Canada Association is pleased to announce that the organization formerly known as Wong Sheung Kung Fu Club (WSKFC) has officially adopted a new name: Victoria Hung Fut & Lion Dance Association (VHFLDA).
This name change reflects the organization’s evolution and expanded mandate within the community. While the Club has long been recognized for its dedication to traditional Hung Fut martial arts, the new name highlights its growing role in cultural education, lion dance performance, and community engagement throughout Greater Victoria.
“Our new name better represents who we are today,” said the Board of Directors. “We remain committed to preserving the Hung Fut lineage, strengthening our martial arts programs, and expanding our cultural outreach through lion dance and community demonstrations.”
The organization also expressed its appreciation to the Wong family for their support over the years and for allowing the Club to operate under the Wong Sheung name. “We honour our history and the Wong family’s contributions as we move forward with a renewed identity that reflects our broader mission,” the Board added.
The name change is effective immediately. All future communications, registrations, and public materials will use the new name: Victoria Hung Fut & Lion Dance Association
The Association will continue offering martial arts training, cultural programming, and lion dance performances for festivals, community events, and private functions.
